Britney’s old vs. new choreography: fair comparison or leave Britney alone?
Britney’s old vs. new choreography: fair comparison or leave Britney alone?

So Britney Spears is attempting yet another comeback, and while her music is (arguably) just as good (she’s certainly churning out the hits again, as she did in 2009) her stage presence just isn’t what it once was. Kaiser and I were e-mailing about this, and she said it’s kind of mean to point out how much Britney has changed, since she’s heavily medicated this time around. I think it’s to be expected and is fair, especially since Britney is putting on nationally televised concerts and is embarking on another tour. She’s just not bringing it like she used to, and if Madonna can put on a big tour and work it at over 50, Britney can bring a little more enthusiasm to her shows at under-30.
PopDust put together the above video of Britney performing in the past vs. now. As Popeater points out, it’s not like Britney is as bad as she was at the 2007 VMAs, but the difference is very noticeable. She’s always lipsynched, but she used to put on a better show and she used to really dance. It just makes you question whether this latest tour is her idea, or whether she’s being pushed to perform, yet again, by a large team of people who rely on her to bring in the money. I think the answer is clear.

Britney Spears is sweet for Dolce & Gabbana
as designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana profess their love for Spears's new songs.

It's fair to say that one doesn't always associate Britney Spears with high fashion. She is certainly no Kate-I-just-popped-to-Starbucks-in-this-Calvin-Klein-shift-Bosworth, or Elle-got-to-do-the-school-run-dressed-like-a-Gucci-clad-minx-Macpherson, so it's a relief to see that Spears has called upon Dolce & Gabbana for a little help with her pop-comeback.

Promotional images for Spears's new album, Femme Fatale , see the the 29-year-old mother of two pictured wearing a selection of pieces by the celebrated Italian design duo.
A polka dot print body helps accentuate Britney's newly trim physique (let's just ignore the airbrushing row raging over in tabloid-land), while a lemon-hued gown lends a couture feel.
"We love Britney and we love to dance to her new songs! We can't wait to hear the whole album!" confess Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. "She has always been among our favourite artists" they continue, "because she has been able to remain true to herself and to her style throughout the years. With her music she influenced and inspired generations of people for more than 10 years, always staying at the top, and we can't but congratulate her for this new, important achievement."
Wow. Last week Kylie, this week Britney. Looks like the Dolce duo have cornered the market in pop princesses.

Britney Spears supports son Sean Preston
Britney Spears played the doting mother yesterday as she enjoyed watching her son play baseball.
The once-troubled pop star attended her son Sean Preston’s Little League game with her boyfriend Jason Trawick, as well as her father Jamie, mother Lynne and ex-husband Kevin Federline.
As she watched on her younger son, Jayden James, sat happily on his mother's knee

It was the second time in less than a week that the singer has taken time out of her busy music schedule to spend time watching her son on the playing field - and meet with her ex Federline.
Sitting beside her talent agent boyfriend Jason, Britney looked delighted to be watching five-year-old Sean Preston play with his young team, the Westhills Yankees.
The 29-year-old singer currently has two singles out at the moment from her upcoming album, Femme Fatale and appeared to be enjoying taking time out for some family time.
It was also the second time Britney has been photographed with Federline since they separated in 2006.
Federline, 32, coached his son's team as his girlfriend, Victoria Prince, offered encouragement from the sidelines.
While Kevin and Jason are not exactly friends, the men seemed happy to share the same family time for the second time in one week.
