Live for the (long weekend)

The best thing about the impending Royal Nuptials? The two day work week! Wahey...Tuesdays are my day off, so I only have to be in Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately we have a new system launch on Thursday, which is also my birthday and we're going to be working flat out to provide our usual standard of service, so there won't be much celebrating going on (8am start, 6/7pm finish, no thanks!)...however, the next day being "that" day means I have have belated celebrations with the people that matter most; and maybe crash a few street parties!

Anyhow, I'm getting ahead of myself. First we need to finish this long weekend, and it will be done in chilled out lazy style.
Yesterday I barely moved off my ass, which was hugely satisfying. Today I predict more of the same, perhaps interjected with a trip to Tesco for essentials; girl cannot live on Easter goods alone (as much as she'd like to try)

Easter Haul!

Photobucket

Sadly that bag did not hold the Prestat egg of my dreams, but it did contain sweets and eggs of the miniature variety!

Photobucket

For the first time in years I was willing and able to take part in some Easter eating

Photobucket

(little steps Laura, little steps)

And cover my blisters in truly epic plasters

Photobucket

I'll be 24 going on 4.

Today I've ditched the floral dresses for my "jazzy trousers"

Photobucket

Photobucket

For all you Haviana fangirls out there, I'm A CONVERT. My feet are so grateful

Photobucket

((I hate feet))

I leave you with cuteness

And wishes for an awesome extra day off

Kreativ (apparently I am)

Ok, shame on me because apart from Sophie and Beth I have lost track of who else passed me this award...please shout if you did and I will add you on!
Thank you all so much, I love reading other people's answers and feel honoured to be nominated myself

*Oscar worthy speech over*

The rules are:

1) link 10 blogs;

2) tell these bloggers about the award;

3) write 10 facts about yourself;

Ok, so lets crack on.

Ten things about me…

1. Please don't judge but I typically wash my hair once a week, twice at a push. I find it really doesn't need more than that, and behaves better this way. Lucky, or plain lazy? I don't care! Thank goodness for Bastiste to keep it smelling fresh!

2. I am a complete child at heart. Matey bubble bath, kids TV, polly pocket, jelly tots...the list goes on.

3. I also like to think I can save the world, anyone having a hard time and I feel gutted I can't fix it for them, but I will always, ALWAYS offer support. It's my little way of paying back the support my family and friends (including you, dear blog readers) have given me.

4. Once upon a time many moons ago my favourite activities were Judo, Kayaking and general outdoor sport madness. I have fond memories of white water rafting on a body board in Austria one summer.

5. I am a foodie. I always have been and always will be I think. I kept it quiet for a while, due to having been ill and people assuming my interest in food stemmed from that. Truth is, I've always loved the stuff. Give me Good Food magazine over Vogue any day.

6. I love fashion, really I do, but for me it's not about the runways and haute couture. Highstreets and real people inspire me more; seeing clothes on real people and knowing that price wise, they are more within my grasp is much more endearing. Saying that, I will happily drool over runway images and editorials..but purely for dreaming purposes, I never aspire to own the latest from Chanel in the way I do the new arrivals in Topshop or New Look.

7. I drink stupid amounts of coffee in a day...8 plus cups. I must be immune to the caffiene though as it doesn't boost my energy or give me sleeping trouble.

8. My heart belongs to American candy. And their snack foods in general. The UK cannot compare...especially cereal bar wise.

9. I go through phases of only eating, or liking certain things. Greek yoghurt, smarties, certain TV programmes, certain teas, certain clothes. And then BAM, I want nothing to do with them anymore. The exception to this being my addictions to both tights and greek yoghurt.

10. I will be 24 next month and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. Do I care? Not.one.bit. Right now I am happier and healthier than I have been in 9 years and I plan to live in the moment and embrace every second of it!

Now,

I cannot possibly pick just a few bloggers to pass this on to,

so I pick you ALL!

Gratuitous cat paparazzi picture for your time!

Sunday

Laziest post ever today, sharing some random photos etc from my Week!

001

Balloon from Aussie, LOVE! Balloons + me = instant happy.

003

I caved in and bought the cupcake partner to my cookie book! I can't wait to get experimenting (all I need now is some time!)

004

TEA. Holland and Barrett are running a promotion on selected items at the moment where you buy one and get one for a penny. Two boxes of my favourite tea for £1.20...yeah.
I would have bought stacks more if I hadn't have had my hands full and a bus to catch.

005

Someone found this week exceptionally hard.

006

007

So hard, right Flash?

008

010

No week would be complete without an utterly random purchase (and yes, I do often have two drinks on the go at once...and neither usually get finished!)

011

012

Sunday outfit...though I think I'll be changing soon, those trousers are not as comfortable as I remember...damn you ever expanding waist.

What does your weekend look like?

Have you made any utterly random purchases lately?

xxx

P.S. BIG HELLO to the lovely girl who stopped to say hi in H&M, I was so shocked that I forgot to ask your name...but thank you for making my day even better!

comfort clothes

Tuesday was one of those days where nothing I put on felt right. Outfits that seemed perfect in my head, were in reality, quite dire. Desperate and on the verge of running late for work I racked my brains for something I knew would make me feel presentable (not an easy feat when it's grey and drizzly outside) and opted for my River Island leopard print skirt. The cut of this is so flattering and the swishy nature injects a little bit of fun!

002

004

005

At the other end of the comfort spectrum, you can't beat PJs! This amazing pair was made for me by the wonderful Char (at my request of long and baggy!) Girl did good!

011

Close up of the fabric

006

Someone else getting comfortable!

009

Other things making me cheery right now...

Mum clearly read my blog and bought me my first Valentine (haha)

007

She's such a cutie.

My new favourite hair care...I won some Umbertto Gianni goodies before Christmas and loved them. I was in Boots the other day and saw the full sized products on 3 for £10 (they sell for around £5 each)

001

I'm especially impressed with the overnight mask. I was a bit worried it'd make a mess of my pillow but it absorbed in to my hair well, and I woke up with softer hair than I've had in ages!

(sorry the outfit photos are such bad quality, I'm struggling with light etc at the moment)

Weekend Casual

Happy Sunday all, hope your having an enjoyable weekend? I've been struck down with the lurgy, and currently have NO VOICE, at all. Haa.

Yesterday I embraced casual wear with denim shorts and a striped top. It felt good to actually dress down!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Flash wanted to show off his new food bowl
(why yes, he is a mucky little critter!)

Photobucket

On the hit list this week?
Spring/Summer collections hitting the shops! Top of my wishlist right now is this Daisy dress from New Look
and these shoes from Matalan

On the Shit List this week?

Being ill...first Mum, now me (and half of the other ladies I work with!)

What's hot or not in your world right now?

the night before the night before

Ack, tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Scary stuff. I don't ever start feeling truly festive until after we've celebrated Mum's birthday...so here's to Santa hats and glitter all round!

Mum thanks you all deeply for the birthday wishes, she was really touched by them. I think she had a nice day,
we ended up going on an epic trek to post Christmas cards through doors yesterday as the roads mean driving isn't a very wise idea. Oh man 2 hours later and numb from cold we were regretting that idea!

Photobucket

I wear this jumper dress entirely too much! I love it though the baggy shape is somehow flattering and I always get a bunch of compliments. These tights remain my current favourite, I'm trying to narrow down my Tabio wishlist as I'm hoping to expand my tights collection somewhat in the new year...I mean, why not get in to triple figures? I'm almost there!

Photobucket

I can't resist posting photos of Flash, he's just so...easy to capture (he doesn't move very fast these days!). He's such a sweetheart in his old age and just loves to cuddle.

Photobucket

I'm so in love with this necklace from MyFlashTrash and I'm more than a little bit obsessed with the site! The owner, Amber has a real eye for sourcing unusual designs from new and emerging talent and there are new arrivals almost daily.

And finally...I have a JOB! I was offered it last week (nothing majorly exciting, admin at a doctors surgery) but kept quiet until I'd made relevant phonecalls and it was all official. It's going to be 12 hours a week which isn't an awful lot but I haven't worked in so long I'm excited to get back in to it!

And that's it.

Are you all ready for Christmas now?

Monday looks like

Full of cold,
blizzard like weather outside...

that leads to a Flash dedicated post. More kitty spam of him in his hat and scarf. I wish you could hear how loud he purrs when he wears it!

Random Sunday

Yep, double post from me today! I thought I'd share some of the ups, and downs on this week!

UP

-Finishing my Christmas shopping!

-New warm jumpers, good old Primark. I wore one of the yesterday

Photobucket

-Dressing Flash up for the cold weather

Photobucket

-Dunster by Candlelight with my Grandad. I failed to get any photos, but trust me it was MAGICAL. It was madly busy, you couldn't get in to any of the shops, but it didn't matter! Seeing the town lit up...especially the castle. Just wow.

-PG Tips Christmas Monkey! Thanks Dad!

Photobucket

DOWN

-The weather. I don't need to elaborate!

-Christmas songs. 2 hours of Cliff Richard Christmas songs on the return from Dunster. Kill.Me.Now.

-Wrapping Christmas presents...the downside to have finished shopping. I'm useless at gift wrapping.

-Crazy mood swings. Tears to laughter in 2 seconds flat? No thanks.

What were your ups and downs this week?

just a simple outfit post

Here's what I'm wearing to start off a new week.

The dress is from a shop called Yellow Shop in Bath. The boots, longsleeve top, socks and bag are all from New Look (obsessed). My tights are from the now closed down Ethel Austin and my necklace is by the fabulous Kerry of PennyDog who makes some of the quirkiest jewellery around!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

(Not entirely sure what I was doing here?!)

And to cheer you up on this dull and dreary Monday, here's Flash looking adorable

Photobucket

Have a great week! What are you up to?
I have appointments, and plan to spend some quality time with my Brother who is home for the week :)
I also have some reviews coming up on the blog.

Ready, get set, GO GO

Double posting from me today, I'm spoiling you!

Today I'm wearing a H&M maxi dress bought last week on my shopping trip with my Grandad. I did a double take at the price...£9.99, SOLD.
I purposely bought it big, I'm not quite ready to embrace the body-con maxi dresses that are around, but with a belt, it works.

Photobucket

It's so comfortable and the length means it doesn't get dragged in the puddles when it's raining outside (like today!)

I'm also sporting a rather fabulous necklace sent to me by GOGO Philip (thanks Amy!). I'd admired the jewellery on other bloggers and was ecstatic to be given the chance to own a piece myself. I've been on a hunt for the perfect multi strand necklace and I think this is IT.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even Flash got in on the action

Photobucket

GO GO Philip jewellery is available in selected Topshop stores (the website has a list of which ones)...check out the Lookbook for more incredible pieces.
You can also follow GO GO Philip on twitter for news and giveaways!

Happy Friday all,
I hope your bonfire night isn't a total washout.
I'm on a mission for sparklers later...I can't believe nowhere in this town is selling them.

FRIDAY!
Another week pretty much over, and today marks four weeks exactly since I was discharged.
Here are my outfits from the past two days.

Photobucket

Ancient star print Primark dress

Photobucket

Photobucket

New and oh so cosy knitted jumper dress from NewLook...I might actually live in this.

This creature clearly wanted in on the outfit photo action as he wouldn't leave me alone

Photobucket

Actually, he rarely leaves me alone, especially if I have a mug of hot vimto in hand.

Current nails:
Photobucket
If you can excuse the messiness. Barry M special effects topcoat over models own 25 carat.
Amaze. It's the best gold nail polish I've found.

Have a fantastic Friday
